The Career Farm Podcast with Jane Barrett - How to get more energy & have brilliant brainpower

Do you want high energy to work on your business or do well in your job? I know I do! So with a strong personal interest I interviewed Rebecca Hirst who recently gave up her highflying corporate career to set up a consultancy to ensure people are operating with peak energy.

After many years in advertising, working on clients such as McDonalds, P&G and United Airlines Rebecca moved 'client side' to a role at Kimberly Clark, working on Kleenex. Following on from this was a role as International Marketing Manger for Coca Cola, where she was responsible for 12 countries in Europe and the Nordics, and ran campaigns around Fifa 2014 and the London Olympics. Quite a CV! But then last year she took the bold step to set up her own business, Glorious Wellness.

The Career Farm Podcast with Jane Barrett - How to get more energy & have brilliant brainpower - Rebecca Hirst from Glorious WellnessRebecca says she had always dream of working in nutrition, to help people get well and fire on all cylinders. In her early 20s and 30s she had bad problems with her skin -  eczema and acne. She had bad side effects from prescription drugs and suffered for years before she found she had an allergy to cows milk and gluten. This was a lightbulb moment for Rebecca, and in parallel with her crazy job she set about spending her evenings and weekends studying nutrition. The results not only helped her personally, they inspired her to help others for a living.

It really was a case of 'If not now, when?!' On graduating from her nutrition course she left Coke in June and set up her consultancy on Sept 1st 2015.

Rebecca currently gets most of her clients from speaking at events, and word-of-mouth referrals. She's a great lover of Instagram and has embraced social media as a means of growing her business.

In the interview we cover:

  • How a business coach proved invaluable in the early stages of setting up Glorious Wellness
  • where she gets most of her clients from
  • how she approaches her marketing (using her insight from her advertising background)
  • The 3 best ways to start increasing your energy
  • What to look for on food labels
