Nicolai Schuemann - Entrepreneur & Cass Business School MBA alumnus
Why I find Nico inspiring is that he has tried a lot of different things – before settling on his current path. I sometimes get asked if you have tried lots of things whether this is a disadvantage? Certainly in this case Nico has used his past experiences to shape what he does today.
An interesting journey from co-founder of a story development company for movies to completing a MBA at Cass Business School. Following a stint at the BBC World Service working on their mobile strategy he worked as a Lean Consultant at Deutsche Bank. Next was a M&A role in an engineering company, where the company got bought (ironically Nico was looking at acquisitions!) and went along the entrepreneurial route to co-found http://www.alicespig.com - a vintage inspired clothing line.
In this session you’ll find out about:
- Why naivety is good
- What opportunities his MBA at Cass Business School gave him
- The biggest obstacle he had to overcome
- What was the most useful thing about being an employee now he is an entrepreneur
- The truckload of mistakes he made (his words!)
- Why making decisions is good
- The benefits and disadvantages being an entrepreneur
- His productivity tip for entrepreneurs

Success Quote
“You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” Steve Jobs
