On Campus: Mock Interviews, CV preparation and Assessment Centres

Career Farm Mock Interview Practice

Many companies, especially large ones, use competency based interviews in their recruitment processes. Essentially these are designed to test the softer skills of a candidate. Each company generally has its own set of competencies and an indication of these can often be found on the company web site, in the job advertisement or in job specifications.

Our experienced career coaches - many of whom are still active in the recruitment industry - will conduct a program of mock 'competency based' interviews for your students. We ask students to provide us with job specifications or job advertisements in which they are interested, plus a copy of their CV. This enables us to prepare thoroughly for the interview. Following the interview we provide the student with immediate verbal feedback and a written summary to you. If you would prefer us to fill in your own feedback form, we will be happy to do so.

The written summary provides continuity to your careers team and gives the students a written record of their feedback.

Format

Our mock interview programmes can either be delivered in a one-to-one format or via small facilitated groups.

If you wish to offer this service to part-time or exec students, we are often able to provide this service at weekends and during afternoons/evenings. We can combine competency based interview practice with career coaching to meet the differing needs of your student body.

CV Preparation

We can also provide your students with one-to-one support to help them prepare a CV which will maximise their potential to be selected for interview. Following these sessions students will take time to refine and improve their CVs based on the guidance provided.  A follow-up half-hour "CV critique"  (delivered via Skype) would usually be offered where the student's CV changes can be reviewed and any further questions can be addressed.

Mock Assessment Centres

One step on from the mock interview is the full assessment centre experience. We can provide this to your students on campus, with the experience tailored to meet your specific requirements.

Pricing

These service are charged on a day rate for each interviewer required. Normally each interviewer would see up to eight students a day for forty minutes each, with a fifteen minute gap in between interviews. Reasonable travel and subsistence expenses are charged in addition to the day rate.
