Webinar: Careers In Finance

A webinar for students interested in pursuing a career In Finance. This is an outstanding opportunity for students interested in this sector to gain insight and guidance from our expert presenter. This webinar has been deliberately scheduled for early in the academic year to give students the best chance of making successful applications to financial institutions.

Led by Elizabeth Paris, the webinar covers:

  • An introduction to the financial services sector (not just banking)
  • A review of roles and functions in the sector
  • The skills needed for successful applications


About the Presenter

Elizabeth Paris - Careers in Finance WebinarAfter graduating from the University of Oxford Elizabeth Paris worked for 19 years in corporate finance at Chase Manhattan and JP Morgan, including eleven years as a Managing Director following promotion in 1991. Roles included M&A, project finance, client management (as Head of Northern Shipping) and structured finance (as Head of Tax Effective Finance).

In 2002 Elizabeth left JP Morgan and became an Associate Fellow at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford where she is both Lead Sector Consultant and a Finance Sector specialist. This role includes presentations and webinars on recruitment into the finance sector; from overviews of the sectors and the application process, to workshops on technical interviews for investment banking. She also works 1:1 with students, honing their career strategy, CVs and applications, and giving mock interviews.

Outside of Oxford Elizabeth continues to work in the finance sector, including projects with UBS in Asia, Switzerland and the UK as well as with Goldman Sachs.
